Beka's Health Journal Goodbye Mercury Hello 6 to 10 Veggies 3x's Daily

     I realize I am gaining speed on my personal best life quest.  You could focus on yours too it is fun, you already are if you are reading a healthblog.  Nancy Burton my accupuncturist, whom I hope to link healthblog's with as soon as I figure out how, told me for the body to function at it's best, to clear inflammation and get enough enzymes to clear out sticky old grasping ( my words) scar tissue eat 6 to 10 vegetables of differing colors 3 times a day.  I am doing this and no surprise all categories of my life are gaining traction.  I met a friend who wants to write a play or movie with me!
     My dentist who follows an impressive mercury removal protocol, Eugene Robbins said he could tell I was really healthy by looking at my skin and the good condition of my teeth.  He will be removing three big mercury fillings in a few weeks so I am doing a heavy metal cleanse, guided by Nancy my newest health Idol.  The last time I had fillings of mercury out, my legs felt much lighter and I could feel little nerves in my face opening.  Since eating better my massage therapist said my muscles were so hydrated that the tension just melted off with one swipe.  No frozen chicken feeling stiff back for me.
    Often you can't clear yeast because it is trying to protect you from metals.  The veggies are also helping to move out toxins faster and give more energy during the cleanse.  This cleanse makes me feel as tired and heavy as an old mule so I am cutting back on massages at work , resting and doing Epsom salt baths

LISTENING TO YOUR BODY = BEST LIFE

 
Please check out my health and travel blog at BEKACHANDLER.COM .  You can join my health blog to get my posts directly.  You can message me with your email and I will add you to my travelblog.  Thanks.   Sure most people ate margerine because they were told it was better for them.  But there were many who felt strongly within themselves that they would never touch the stuff in a million years.  Later we learned the horrors of trans fats, "The Darth Vader of processed foods"*, which countries like Denmark and Australia banned after finding links to blindness among other things.

     The important question here is why do some people and animals know what not to take into their bodies while others of us are clueless?  The answer is connecting to your felt sense.  Feeling in your body how you think, feel, look, sleep and digest food or anything in life after you partake in it.  One exercise I teach in my workshops is to stand and shake the same leg for a minute and vigourously at the end.  Then stand on both feet and feel the difference in both legs and feet.  The shaken foot will feel lighter, flatter,  more connected to the floor and sure footed.  There are many practices to connect to your inner guidance and felt sense.  Generally, if something makes you feel expanded, excited, easier to breath and makes commen sense, it enlivens you, go for it.  If on the other hand a potential business partner, person or choice makes you feel constricted and it seemes heavy and harder to breath,  this blocks your mojo, don't do it.  In the middle east people would be sent to smell a potential bride, to see if she smelled angry.  Our unconscious mind picks up so many cues.  Taking the time to tune in and really feel out both sides of an important descision can save you tons of time and money in the long run.

Beka's Health Meanderings Nettles, Sex, Going #2

I ended up going to Bhutan with a months notice. what a blessing. the stress of a quick big trip gave me a mild yeast infection. Two different medical intuitive friends suggested the herb nettles to beef up my system along with a few other things. It struck me as important because these two women knew more about health than any other people I have ever met. My new favorite drink is iced nettle tea with organic lemon juice stevia and ice. cold things are hard on the liver and digestion but hey you got to have a little fun. Nettle can be found in bulk in heathfood stores, it is so full of power it makes the deepest green color almost blue green. when you have sex remember to take deep full breaths especially when orgasming. Imagine energy coming up and out through the top of your head. This pulls the energy up through your spinal cord and nerves for a full body experience instead of just a little spurt through your genitals. If your tissues feel tender during sex. eat a more alkaline diet and this will strengthen the tissues. Think less grains and more veggies. people often ask me things they are shy to speak about openly. How to poop well If you eat too many inflammatory foods your poop will be hard like clay and could be tearing things along the way. some people notice a bit of blood. soften things up with more produce. When you make great soil you add plant matter to make the soil fluffy. deep colored soil should look like chocolate or coffee. this means you are getting enough nutrients to have a full life experience being your best fertilized self. If you have to go right after drinking water you need to stay more hydrated. eat enough saturated fats like coconut oil and butter to keep your brain functioning properly and to keep things slip sliding away. I read in a health book once with a good diet you should go number 2 around three times a day. These people are getting carried away I thought. People around the world who don't get modern day stress diseases go three times a day. going to the bathroom when you are eating as as the body was made to takes a bout one minute. think of dropping Cotten balls off a plate. wipe wipe done. good color good form easy means long life. Research caveman diets, anti inflammatory diets, diets of blue zone people (areas where many live over 100) study how your live and body reacts to different food choices and live becomes more magical and fun.

Fertilize Your Nervous System rough draft

In the morning I deeply enjoy fertilizing my nervous system with one of my all-time favorite, old steady, salt of the earth, settle my butt down teas.  No these things will not make you tired(unless you have exhausted yourself and have been able to block it out of your awareness up until this point.  The realization of which is a true blessing because you caught yourself before you ran yourself into the ground before dead stop.)  Remember, in a relaxed state is where you get your greatest inspiration and are connected to your true power.  Healing and the best life happened in a relaxed state.  Tension tamer by celestial seasonings is my old steady.  Being on this planet is stressful, this blend of herbs puts B vitamins and other stress fighters back in your body again.  Stress likes to eat B vitamins.  If things are falling asleep easy, or you have done a lot of sugar or coffee you should think about putting in more nutrients.  I tell clients I like this tea.  Clients have come back a week later who had stiff necks and shoulder pain and said things like, "Things at work don't really phase me like they used to.  I don't get all freaked out.  They no longer feel like frozen chickens instead their neck and shoulders are more like goopey baby muscles.  When I feel tight neck and shoulder people, I think about stress reducing teas.
    When I watch my thoughts and notice i am getting a little keyed up or freaked out or not calm,  my automatic reaction is to (try this now) imagine my feet are magnets and they are plugged into the earth and I am breathing up red molten lava energy into my body, much like you suck a strawberry shake throughout a straw.  I teach clients when standing to imagine they are plugging each foot into the ground like a three prong plug in.  "Plug it in and suck it up"  I take a nice full breath and unlock my joints with a little squat much like a human bike pump now that I think of it.  Holding ones breath makes us freak out for lack of oxygen.  Maybe your body is panicked for lack of hydration easy go drink some water.  Maybe you are one of those people with little body awareness that eats no quality protein until way to late in the day and has blood sugar freak outs.  How about the people who do super fruit sugary smoothies with juice and tropical fruits like bananas, oranges etc.  Even hearing about that and being next to the person freaked me out.  Fruit sugar is sugar.  It takes the human body thousands or whole lots more of years to change.  So eat what your ancestors ate most of the time.  Thy weren't dive-bombing themselves into sugar comas.  They ate mostly vegetables and free range organic meat fish nuts and seeds and beans and a little fruit.  I do fruit about  4 or 5 servings a week.  Mostly berries.  If you are going to do a triathlon the tropical fruit smoothie is probably a great idea.  Remember heroine addicts out of their drugs reach for sugar as the next best things.  I am starting to ask people and restaurants if they cut the sugar in desserts by at least 1/3rd if not I quickly loose interest.  My friend is a gourmet pastry chef he is going to make me a stevia sweetened whipped cream berrie cake.  I am going to freeze and hoard it.  Sorry for digressing.  If your diet is acidic that sucks.  It I go on vacation and eat like and American(think bagels and coffee), I am a nervous wreck.  I feel like I am 30 years older, fearful of mystery tumors,  you get the point.  I get back on big colorful organic salads, lemon water ginger tea, salmon.  I realize I don't need my eyelids surgically liftedI just needed to cleanup my diet.  I get lean again.  My desserty road map skin gets plump and hydrated and young looking again my energy level goes back up and the frozen ice jams of inflammation and pain start to melt and disappear again and my stress level goes down.
   Acupunturists and herbalists have great mixtures for stress.  I was getting a monthly massage while starting a new business when I relocated my practice none of my massage clients wanted to move to a new state with me.  One month I was totally negative and fretting about it.  This new business stress has been ongoing for months.  Why am I freaking this month only.  Then I realized I had missed a massage that month.  Make a list of what stresses you out and communicate with someone about it.  Best Beka

  

Q's and A's: Hand and Wrist Pain

To clear pain try soaking in cayenne and epsom salts from pain at the end of a busy hand day.  Try Electrolites.  My favorite is Emergen C brand, it has magnesium, calcium and potassium among other much needed minerals.  The light with Msm is my favorite.  This help's flush stiffness and soreness out of the muscles and cells.  Often our tissues are stagnant and rigid.  Read my other posts on thawing stiffness with alkaline diet.  For clumpy or stiff spots make a fist and thump your arms and forearms with the bottom of your fist like a friendly hammer.  Think of hard painful places in your body like unthawed gum, a few stretches, rubs or thumps will soften the area in most cases.  If there is no bone problem, you are in luck the tissues can always be cleared.  The muscles hold the bones in place.  If you are tight all over like a frozen chicken, don't sleep well, get looser after waking and moving, and or constipated, and or nervous you could be low on magnesium.  Dark leafy greens, almonds, eggs,  and beans are good sources of magical magnesium.  This mineral is the one your body needs to relax the muscles, help the heart and stay calm.  If you start to have loose stools you are taking too much.
      Lastly, if the tracking of your shoulders is off it can be affecting things all down the line.  Whenever you think of it, squeeze your shoulder blades together and hold or open close repeatedly.  Imagine you are chewing gum between tim and look for hard spots.  Come from different angles and breath into the high spots.  Often we are too strong in the front and we need to engage our back muscles more to hold our shoulders in place.  Put your hands by your butt when sitting and lift your self up using your muscles below your shoulder.  To stretch, face the wall crawl your fingers up as high as you can, stick your buttt out with a mild donkey sway back.  Then kiss the wall gently with your armpits.  Melt into all stretch's with your breathing.  Hang out at about 65 percent of your max, feel into your body and wiggle at different angles.  At no time in life should you ever hold your breath unless you are under water.  Remember your full slow abdominal breaths keep you connected to your power.  Feel free to call me for a session to check if you have any  high knots blocking flow down your arms.  The hands and carpal  tunnel are normally easy to clear if you know the right spots to work.  The finger muscles are millimeters thick with out tones of layers.  Elbows work well to clear the palms.  Knuckles work well to clear the fingers.  Move the finger joints in circles to clear the lymph.  Wherever the joint won't circle well like a spoon stirring around a bowl,  congratulations, that is where you need to clear a spot, that is holding you up  I have people stop me on the street and say, "Beka my hand pain is still gone after last year when you cleared it."  Join this blog to be notified when I have posted a new entry.  Best Beka    Ps these are all just ideas that have worked for me that you need to explore for yourself to see if they are useful for you.  I hope this helps.  Ok, I will tell you the secret spot to clear carpal tunnel is on the pinky side of your inner forearm starting at the pointy elbow area, feel for a tender hard ropey tendon that leads toward the hand.  Get some oil and a thin smooth jade tool called a gua sha, or a pancake rock, something thin, smooth and with a ledge or a knuckle and rub up and down the spagetti string.  Use oil so you don't give your self a scab.  Do this gently and you should feel the tenderness getting cleared out of the stuffy stovepipe tendon.  They don't get a lot of blood flow.

Outsmarting Pain, What to Do When Something Goes Wonky

I don't think I was experiencing as much pain as some people have.  There is a memory of the words, "Oh my God oh my God" being repeated on the worst two nights and changing positions in the tub.  My exercise program to date has been suffering from NEP, not enough pain.  Here is a rundown of the steps that reversed the pain back out of my body.  When I started to go into fearful thoughts, I choose positives. I am eating clean and melting inflammation and old frozen places in my stiff leg.  My feet are opening, which is proof of my progress.  The best help was visiting a healer who shows me exercise to reverse the inner arch collapsing pattern.   To engage my foot strength by pushing my toes into the ground and engaging the outsides of my feet.  The old pattern was creating pressure on my pubic bone and hips.   Cayanne cream was my best friend.  A massage helped.  I was doing side plank.  Lay on your weak side balance on your forearm and hand, lift your hip and straiten your body.  You can slowly pump your hips up and down.  While sitting you can press your knees together, straiten your arms and use your fists to hold your knees together.  I call this separate knee mountain.  You will feel your sacrum and the area on the insides of your SI joints getting fresh blood in and stiffness out.  Anywhere you have tissue pain,  find the excersizes that move that muscle.  Remember muscles hold the bones in place so stretch and strengthen those muscle.  You don't have to do every exercize in the world or work out for hours.  Focus on the exercises that you can tell are "getting it."  Do a short 10 minute routine in bed when you wake up.  This is what people with back pain do to stabilize your body.  Make sure you are taking long slow breathes that engage your lower abdominal muscles.  Test it by pressing above your pubic bone and pushing your fingers out while you breath.  Many clients have reported to me that my all time favorite core sound "VOO"  has helped.  For clearing the swollen frozen spots in your body check out my other entries on this blog.  As you eat a cleaner diet you will feel bones and muscles free up and go in place just like the ice melting and freeing up the rivers in the spring like in Alaska.  Heat 20 ice 20 three sets ending with cold.  I was drinking ginger tea everyday.  It pulls out old water so drink water first.  Epson salt baths 2 cups 20 minutes only.  Look for intuitive body workers,  get a massage and see a chiropractor who can also do low force chiropractic.  this way you will know they aren't to rough.  Acupunture and physical therapy is great also.  Before my hip started to hurt, I was doing a daily green smoothy and liver cleanse.  My body got open enough to clear my stiff leg.  My body choose the best time possible to release my old stuck hip pattern, when I was back home in Alaska visiting family.  When I return to Oregon, I am going to do yoga and more strength training, a monthy chiro practice and a season change acupuncture to check on my organs and stay preventative.   I will add more to this post and edit it for my upcoming book in the future.  Join and you will get announcements my new writings, lectures, dvd's, books and articles.  Best Beka

Onions, Little Globe Shaped lifesavers

   Remember quercetin the best natural supplement for allergies is made from onions.  I sometimes make a killer flu concoction out of horseradish, habenjero peppers, white onion, garlic and I think ginger soaked for days in apple cider vinegar.  I am sure you can google it.  Remember if a killer flu ever shows up where you live even hot sauce every few hours can kill viruses. I remember feeling suddenly puckey and driving through taco bell for the hot sauce.  It worked.  People who ate kimchi, probiotic rich fermented cabbage/bok choi didn't get the Asian bird flu.  Eating saurkraut or kimchi is said to be way more effective at putting the good guys (probiotics) in your gut than pills.  Take your probiotic form of choice before bed so it can fertilize your guts and cells in the best way.  Yogurt sometimes only has two strains of probiotics but your body needs more than that.  Mix up your probiotics.  Kefir or yogurt plain with stevia and a little fruit is another fun one.  Kefir is better than yogurt for your probiotic bounty.  If your probiotic is good you can tell when you eliminate in the (Hopefully) morning, dark fluffy top soil means is a good sign you are living right.
The other night I was looking for a small meal for dinner.  I had four bites of salmon leftovers with a little saurkraut it was a great combo and no cooking.  I shoot for two onces of organic free range meat if that is my protein at meals.  Dinner should be small like a salad or snack, because you are no longer active so don't need a lot of fuel at night.  I love this "Eat like a king for breakfast, a prince for lunch and a pauper for dinner.  Remember the fastest way to see improvements in every part of your life is to eat well and choose love in all your actions, including loving yourself and honoring your feelings. In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million people there was this Doctor that visited the many farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu... Many of the farmers and their families had contracted it and many died.

The doctor came upon this one farmer and to his surprise, everyone was very
healthy. When the doctor asked what the farmer was doing that was different the wife replied that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the rooms of the home, (probably only two rooms back then). The doctor couldn't believe it and asked if he could have one of the onions and place it under the microscope. She gave him one and when he did this, he did find the flu virus in the onion. It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the family healthy.

Now, I heard this story from my hairdresser. She said that several
years ago, many of her employees were coming down with the flu, and so were many of her customers. The next year she placed several bowls with onions around in her shop. To her surprise, none of her staff got sick It must work. Try it and see what happens. We did it last year and we never got the flu.

Now there is a P. S. To this for I sent it to a friend in Oregon who
regularly contributes material to me on health issues. She replied with this most interesting experience about onions:

Thanks for the reminder. I don't know about the farmer's story...but, I do
know that I contacted pneumonia, and, needless to say, I was very ill... I came across an article that said to cut both ends off an onion put it into an
Empty jar, and place the jar next to the sick patient at night. It said the
onion would be black in the morning from the germs...sure enough it happened just like that....the onion was a mess and I began to feel better.

Another thing I read in the article was that onions and garlic placed around
the room saved many from the black plague years ago. They have powerful antibacterial, antiseptic properties.

This is the other note.
Lots of times when we have stomach problems we don't know what to blame. Maybe it's the onions that are to blame. Onions absorb bacteria is the reason they are so good at preventing us from getting colds and flu and is the very reason we shouldn't eat an onion that has been sitting for a time after it has been cut open.

LEFT OVER ONIONS ARE POISONOUS
I had the wonderful privilege of touring Mullins Food Products, Makers of
Mayonnaise. Questions about food poisoning came up, and I wanted to share what I learned from a chemist.

Ed, who was our tour guide, is a food chemistry whiz. During the tour, someone
asked if we really needed to worry about mayonnaise. People are always worried that mayonnaise will spoil. Ed's answer will surprise you. Ed said that all commercially-made Mayo is completely safe.

"It doesn't even have to be refrigerated. No harm in refrigerating it, but
it's not really necessary." He explained that the pH in mayonnaise is set at a point that bacteria could not survive in that environment. He then talked

the table, and how everyone blames the mayonnaise when someone gets sick.

Ed says that, when food poisoning is reported, the first thing the officials
look for is when the 'victim' last ate ONIONS and where those onions came from (in the potato salad?). Ed says it's not the mayonnaise (as long as
it's not homemade Mayo) that spoils in the outdoors. It's probably the
ONIONS, and if not the onions, it's the POTATOES.

He explained onions are a huge magnet for bacteria, especially uncooked
onions. You should never plan to keep a portion of a sliced onion.. He says it's not even safe if you put it in a zip-lock bag and put it in your
Refrigerator.

It's already contaminated enough just by being cut open and out for a bit,
that it can be a danger to you (and doubly watch out for those onions you put in your hotdogs at the baseball park!). Ed says if you take the leftover onion and cook it like crazy you'll probably be okay, but if you slice that leftover onion and put on your sandwich, you're asking for trouble. Both the onions and the moist potato in a potato salad, will attract and grow bacteria faster than any commercial mayonnaise will even begin to break down.

Also, dogs should never eat onions. Their stomachs cannot metabolize onions.

Please remember it is dangerous to cut an onion and try to use it to cook
the next day, it becomes highly poisonous for even a single night and creates toxic bacteria which may cause adverse stomach infections because of excess bile secretions and even food poisoning..

Tips for Keeping Your Spark While Traveling

These are tips I have picked up over the years. Some come from getting from one country to another with 30 plus hours in between, clients, naturopaths, you get the idea.  There is an immense amount of gratitude in my heart for having the good fortune of getting to see over 25 countries.  Recently at a constellation workshop we were asked to sit in order by age.  A friend said, "Beka come sit by me, I think I am older than you." She then asked, "how old are you?"  I replied "44."  "Go skin!" she exclaimed!  She sells my friend Destinos incredible all natural skin care line CoCoPlumCo.com at her famous store Papaya, which I have been using for months.  She thought I was at least 10 years younger!
This is what works for me, be your own detective.  If a lifesyle change makes you feel, think, look, sleep, and crap better, better to keep it! 
Pack ginger tea (anything that helps digestion is a friend for life!) and rinse out travel stiffness with excess water.  Don't drink if you are low on water, it flushes old water out of the system.   Grapefruit seed extract in pill form (in case you eat bad pork in India or notice people have the puke flu on the bus to Spokane, take at first notice.)  On this trip back home to Alaska, I packed Seaweed and nuts in my carry on, always have protein on hand.  Great greens tablets or green powder capsules, etc.  Always hard to eat enough greens on the road!  I learned capsules and pills are better than powders and liquids for trips.  Trying to mix liquid grapfruit seed extract on a Himalayan road trip that started at 3 p.m. in Sikkim to get back to the airport in Bogdagra didn't work.  My pork symptoms lasted longer than necessary.  Rescue Remedy Black Current Pastilles work wonders for stressful moments.  If you begin to feel nervous, focus on tuning into your feelings a little more in depth.  Dried goji berries is a great power food that is not too sweet.  Stevia is great when avoiding sugar.  A water bottle is always good to carry on late night walks.  Sonam, our Bhutan guide, said "Don't go towards a yak, they will think you are going to kill them and stomp on you."  Then, we saw a group of large animals nearby in the dark. I like glass best, then no plastic or metal leaching.  Overseas however, I take metal.  Take probiotics every night in a perfect world.  Now everyone is saying kimchi or saurkraut is much more powerfull than pills.  Yogurt is good if dairy doesn't give you migraines, mucus, or stiffness but be sure to watch the sugar levels.  I like it plain with stevia, and frozen berries. Make sure the container says live and active cultures, and the best has cream at the top.  Yogurt is better than milk because it has been digested by the probiotics, kefir has even more probiotics.  Daily vitamins, and I am starting to get into enzymes.  As soon as possible,  get to a store with an organic, health food section and buy a huge plastic box of pre-washed organic lettuce, lemons, and frozen sheltons pre-cooked turkey dogs.  These are my travel staples.  Oh also electrolites, I like the lite Emergen-c packets with no fructose and MSG.  Remember if you are eating lots of green stuff, you are doing great!!  On vacation now, so not really interested in editing! Thanks folks for all of your support.  What the heck fish oil pills (cod liver oil is the best) and vitamin D if it is cloudy where you are going.

Green Smoothie the Babyfied version Photos to come

The last smoothie I posted was more of an Avatar, ninja skills, yer ancestors, no fruit sugar or processed food clean smoothie.  This smoothie tastes great and won't accelerate your aging process like the fruit and fruit juice sugar overloaded smoothies some people do.  When I think of these types of smoothies it makes my pancreas cringe and I get a contact lightheaded high.  You can stay fit or loose weight with this recipe.  I do this one on busy days when I might need a snack or miss a meal. 

~ (everything organic when possible makes your life more magical, healthy, wealthy, abundant and heals the soil and water where grown and heals your body and the earth)

Sometimes I will put a teaspoon of dried nettle leaf in the blender the night before if it is going to be an early morning.  It is a superfood with tons of nutrients. 
1 to 2 cups spring, filtered or alkaline water, more water makes it more hydrating and easier to drink.
2 or 3 stalks of organic celery(cut off bitter leaves), loaded with pottasium and peppy energy.  Good for crampy calves.
Few sprigs flatleaf parsley( my healthiest client is 79, I wish I had her hair.  She says to add this.)  Never juice a lot of parsley, it is good for your nerves but my mom says too much can slow down your body and kill you.   

1 large handful of lettuce  this will keep your energy good at three in the afternoon.
1 or 2 droppers of Stevia depending on your taste.  My friend likes two drops I like ten!
1 cup of raspberries, blueberries or strawberries.  Fresh is best but keep some frozen for backup.
1 cup of hemp, coconut or almond milk non sweetened vanilla.  Hemp is the creamiest but some say men shouldn't do too much of it so tune in to your intuition and mix it up
1 scoop vanilla protein powder.
Put in a Vitamix blender.  They last forever and can munch up anything.  Start on low then go up to high, be sure to give it a few minutes.  Pour into a quart jar.  Rinse the blender with a little water and pour that in the jar too.  If there is too much, put extra in a cup and refrigerate for the next day or better yet, give to a friend!  Rinse the Vitamix twice more with water, no need to wash it.  This is my personal best tasting smoothie with 20 years of field testing for good health, attitude, looks, weight etc.  Since nothing got cooked, when you go to drink it or hand some to your friend, you can shake the glass and say "It's alive It's alive".  Drink your smoothie, feel your cells start to glow, notice how awesome your skin looks and go have fun in your shimmering alkaline state. 

I like a vegan one with brown rice and pea protein etc.  Hemp seed is a nice choice.  Veggies or seed proteins are the best choice.  Whey is good but it gives me puffy eyes and a lot of snot if I do it every day.  I like to do Whey every three days with frozen berries and stevia for a skinny shake experience.  Buy the non bitter stevia, not the bitter type of the old days.  Stevia comes from a leaf and helped me kick  my sugar habit. It has no calories and it is very easy to trick your lizard brain into thinking you are eating sugar.  You can grow the stevia plant right in your backyard!    Whey has the master of all antioxidants glutathione.  Sorry if this is sloppy,  I just found an editor.  I do one of these every day and all the good energy is keeping me uninterested in crap food and my thigh fat is melting, Yay!!  My business is booming and I make more money when I eat like this.  Life gets easier.  I did at least 60 massages and healing sessions with no days off getting ready to come home on vacation and had no soreness or meltdowns and I feel great!!  Time for a nap, TaTa

Green Smoothie for a Funner Life... the purest version

Get a Vitamix blender, it will last forever and you will save money in the long run.
I add:
filtered water
half a cubed cucumber
two stalks of celery (all ingredients organic for your rocket boosters)
large handful of lettuce
pinch of himalayan salt
half a lemon with the rind scrapped off, leave the pulp, it is very good for you (bioflavanoids) makes for handsome cells!
some dark leafy greens, rotate them between days, the same kind every time is not good for you (kale, swiss chard, spinach) and cut off the stems if you have a weaker blender
If you buy local eggs 1 or 2 egg yolks(you can't taste them).  You need fat for your body to get the most of all these super lively nutrients.  If you buy mass produced eggs they often sit in warehouses for months and so don't eat raw.  When I do this every day, I can literally massage all day and feel good after it thanks to all the life-force.  People will say "you look great!"  When I slack off on the smoothies,  I start eating crap around 3:00 pm for lack of real energy from the smoothies and no one says I look so young or great or have glowing skin. Oh almost forgot Jeanne who perfected this recipe says flat leaf parsley is the best.  If I need a boost, I add dried nettles for health extra credit if my system seems low.  Thank you Lisa for your inspiration I will post a smoothie that is a sweet berry smoothy that is more of a meal.  Here's to your best life, Beka

What I learned from watching clients heal. will post update soon



   With each client who comes to me for massage, I take time to tell them there are a few simple self-care steps that can make your body a lot more relaxed and pliable – and make you a lot happier, especially at times of stress and injury.

·        A daily anti-inflammatory, such as a teaspoon of turmeric in your daily nutritional smoothie will work wonders for sore muscles and joints. We’re all used to ibuprofen, but turmeric is natural and doesn’t damage your liver, like over-the-counter meds.  In the long term, such meds can make things worse.  You’ve heard of “old lady hands?” With this, you won’t get them.

·        Cod liver or other omega fish oils. Yes, they can be yucky, so I recommend going with the orange-flavored variety. Again, a smoothie is a good delivery system for this. Put in a tablespoon a day. It’s an antioxidant and has a range of health benefits. Clients who take cod liver oil have the most release from trigger points and their problem areas clear out easier if they’re lubricated with healthy oils.

·        Ginger tea.  The preparation and drinking of tea daily is a nice, soothing ritual, so why not make it ginger, which cleanses muscles and flushes tissue of inflammatory toxins that come from eating a too acid diet, plus it has a lively, sprightly taste.

·        Oil pulling with sesame oil. Swish a tablespoon around in your mouth for 20 minutes, sucking in through your teeth. It’s a simple ayurvedic process that relieves the entire upper neck by the fifth day of doing it. Clients tell me their joints and muscles become much looser.

·        A diet of 75% organic produce(mostly vegetables). I’ve seen it help clients get a lot better and I’ve seen real change in my body – more mobile, healthier tissues.

·        A relaxing tea, daily, something good for stress, like Tension Tamer made by Celestial Seasonings, with B vitamins and blended herbs. This will head off that feeling of being frazzled and not being able to slow down and get back in neutral.  Passionfruit-mango by Stash Teas is also good – or find a good local tea with similar ingredients.

 ·        Cut back on wheat. Eat more potatoes and rice to open up the tissues. Wheat and too many grains make you acidic and stiff. Potatoes and rice are neutral. Potatoes and vegetables are easy to digest and they provide the carbs you need. Yeast-free sourdough bread is good, the best I’ve found, much better for your body.

   What we’re trying to do with all this is flush toxins out of the body’s pipes – the log jams or traffic jams that create pain and stiffness. It’s not age that causes aches and pains, it’s the accumulation of toxins.

   If you notice old injuries acting up, it’s the body storing toxins in old injured sites and it’s telling you that you need to do a cleanse.

HEALTH MOTIVATION Avoiding Senior Centers as We Age

Sometimes I eat really good, other times not great.  There is a teflon pan in the garbage and three organic lemons on the counter.  A level has been reached.  My passion for the best life possible finally connected to my daily lifestyle and eating patterns.   Somewhere in my mind, the two neuropathways have finally reached each other and are now holding hands.  Suddenly, there are health geniuses by my side every time I go for a walk and they tell me new approaches to health on levels I am just starting to get a footing on.  When I grow up, I want to be a health comedian.  If the jokes aren't funny, at least I will look and feel like a beacon of radiant health as I tell them.  Nutrient rich, alive, organic, free range foods bring me special ninja powers.  No longer will I space this out.  I will stare down sugar, holding my non bitter stevia bottle of courage.  As green vegetable smoothies are my witness, I am ready to lead the way for my carbfogged fellow human family.  If my grammar isn't perfect perhaps you will only remember the free health tips.  Cheers to your best life and you!!    Best Beka
